Measuring bike safety

We were mentioned in an Our Town article by Michael Garofalo where Ben Kallos commended our efforts on the Bike Safety Report. "Kallos applauded the work of the East 72nd Neighborhood Association, which has released reports grading local restaurants on their bike safety practices, including whether riders wore vests, displayed identification tags or rode e-bikes". Temporary M15 Local Bus Stop

Due to construction at the Second Avenue M15 local bus stop between 71st & 72nd Streets, the M15 Local Bus stop has been relocated one block north between 72nd & 73rd Streets. 

We have reached out to our contact at DOT to ask for a sign re-directing passengers from the regular M15 Local stop at 71-72 to the temporary stop at 72-73.

Bike Delivery Report

In our continuing effort to improve pedestrian safety in the East 72nd Street Neighborhood, our volunteers recently undertook our second survey of commercial bicycle delivery practices to document compliance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations for restaurant deliveries.

Citibikes

The installation of Citibikes docking stations on the Upper East Side has been completed. Crosstown bike lanes have been installed. If you are interested in learning more about this visit CB8 to find out when the next Transportation Committee meeting will be held.
