Reduction in Crosstown Bus Service

The MTA Bus has proposed reducing the service frequency of our crosstown buses --- the M72, M66 & M31 in September.  It is the MTA's position that these bus routes have low demand, and that a portion of the buses serving these routes should be re-allocated to areas of the city with high ridership demand.

Our Elected Officials, including Liz Krueger, Carolyn Maloney and Ben Kallos have met with the MTA Bus and have gotten their agreement to survey these routes again in September to verify their assertion of low demand prior to implementing the cuts.

Members of E72NA spoke during the public sessions of the MTA Board meetings against these cuts and our view that the MTA surveys do not accurately capture the strong demand for these routes.

Has a bus passed you by? Is your bus overcrowded?  How long have you waited for a bus? We need you -- Please share your story about bus over crowding (M66) and long wait times (M72 & M31).
